Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll is the real name of the famous Latin popstar Shakira. This Colombian singer was born on February 2, 1977 in Baranquilla, Colombia. Before she even hit Hollywood, Shakira already established her name as a pop star in Latin America during the mid 90's.

It was only in 2001 where she had gone mainstream in the English-speaking world and released her album Laundry Service. The said debut album sold more than fifteen million copies all over the world. In no time, she was able to gain the title of being the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, with two Grammy and seven Latin Grammy award at hand. Her latest collaboration was with popstar Beyonce for the single Beautiful Liar.
